Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Strong leadership capabilities
BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
7-15 years’ experience in activities stated above
Sourcing experience categories like heavy equipment, spare parts, engineering materials, IT would be plus.
Can follow and deliver upon the sourcing strategy and implementation plan.
Experienced in conducting supplier negotiation and managing the business internal/external stakeholders.
Can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Motivated-self-directed, detailed oriented, and high sense of taking ownership.
Manages category specialists with the implementation of sub-category sourcing strategies. He/she will support prioritizing the projects to source, determining the strategy for which events/bid types will be used, identifying the supplier strategy (rationalizing vs identifying new suppliers), and identifying opportunities to optimize the supplier portfolio with the existing supply base (new offerings, co-innovation opportunities).
Manages a team of 3-5 sourcing specialists under him/her. Manages their workload distribution, company policy and process compliance, identifies areas where the process could be improved.
Executes the strategic sourcing process which includes: market and industry analysis, E-Auction, supplier research/reviews, supply chain optimization, MOQ, sourcing execution, bid analysis, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop future cost savings opportunities.
Identify, harmonize, de-complexify, and quantify specifications.
Articulates clear status reports on execution of their sourcing pipeline and progress on cost savings targets.
